At New York City Tourism Conventions NYCs official tourism organization thats both our pleasure and our responsibility. We are a team of proud New Yorkers who love representing the five boroughs to the globe. Our digital marketing and social media team produces inspiring work that reflects New York Citys energy and diversity. That work can be seen across a range of digital and social channels including our Webby Awardwinning digital channels; Emmy Awardwinning films; key programs like NYC Restaurant Week; and through partnerships with leading tourism and hospitality organizations at home and worldwide. We champion collaboration and are looking for a like-minded Social Video Producer to join our team reporting to the Senior Social Media Director on the Creative/Content team.

Our mission has always been to share an authentic positive image of New York City with the world and help build the Citys prosperity and we are charged with helping ensure that all New Yorkers benefit from the Citys tourism pursuit of that goal we are committed to featuring diverse voices in our channels who speak to NYCs many cultures and make the five boroughs the worlds most dynamic and welcoming travel destination.

We are seeking a creative organized and resourceful Social Video Producer based in New York City with strong external and internal communication skills for a full-time position to help us produce social content aligned with the above mission and goals.

WHAT YOULL DO:

• Concept create edit and manage engaging social video content for our Instagram TikTok YouTube Shorts LinkedIn and Facebook Reels channels
• Scout and work with NYC-based creators to help cover New York City attractions culture and events from a tourist-facing POV
• Handle the video pre-production process liaising with internal teams NYC Tourism partners and members of the local tourism industry
• Ensure that all NYC Tourism social videos comply with brand guidelines including legal requirements
• Manage editing workflow with freelance video editor(s)
• Work with our Legal and Accounts Payable departments to generate and execute contracts with contributors and to process invoice promptly
• Shoot and edit occasional video for NYC Tourism social channels including interviews with various tourism sectors B2B partners and on the street with the general public
• Write strong and engaging copy that connects with a large and diverse audience
• Generate and brainstorm ideas with other internal teams
• Collaborate with the team to diversify our brand while increasing followership
• Ensure a diversity of ideas perspectives and voices

YOU SHOULD:

• Be an effective communicator with the ability to build brand following and engagement
• Understand both traditional and digital media platforms and planning principles including paid social organic content measurement media/campaign evaluation and brand health tracking
• Be able to lead and manage parallel projects/brand social platforms and work effectively with multiple stakeholders
• Be in tune with social trends and able to respond to those trends/memes to capitalize on opportunities
• Have the agility flexibility and positive attitude necessary to thrive on a fast-moving team and in a growing business
• Have deep knowledge of the overall creator landscape

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Be based in NYC
• Have 2 years experience in social media and digital marketing
  
• Be able to edit video on desktop/mobile apps such as Premiere CapCut InShot etc.
• Have impeccable written and verbal communication skills. Youre going to contribute to the voice of New York Citys Official Guide and will largely be your own writer editor and copy editor
• Poise comfort and confidence in talking to a wide variety of New Yorkers (and tourists!) in eliciting on-camera interviews from them
• Have solid news judgment informed by a sincere desire to represent all of NYC in all its diversity including its people; its many communities neighborhoods and boroughs; and the sheer abundance of activities interests and industries that make NYC vibrant
• Understand NYC: youll be talking to both visitors to NYC and locals so you need to know the five boroughs well
• Have enough familiarity with social metrics to understand whats working and whats not
• Familiarity with SproutSocial Later Excel a plus
• Have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Maintain a positive mindset and the ability to remain calm under pressure
