Takeena Adventures specializes in immersive Southeast Alaska yacht expeditions, blending wilderness exploration, sport fishing, wildlife viewing, and refined onboard comfort. Our charters operates May through September and explores the rich waters and coastlines of the Tongass National Forest, Baranof Island, and surrounding archipelagos. Guests expect exceptional cuisine inspired by Alaska’s bounty and warm, attentive hospitality — delivered by a professional, cohesive crew.

We are seeking an experienced Chef/Steward who thrives in remote cruising environments and takes pride in creating memorable dining experiences at sea.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Service

• Plan, prepare, and present high-quality meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) for guests and crew
• Incorporate fresh, local Southeast Alaska ingredients when available (seafood, seasonal produce)
• Accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions with creativity and care

Hospitality & Stewarding

• Provide polished, friendly guest service throughout the charter
• Handle table service, daily interior upkeep and vessel turn over day
• Maintain a warm, welcoming onboard atmosphere in variable weather conditions

Provisioning & Inventory Management

• Provision efficiently for remote, multi-day voyages with limited resupply opportunities
• Maintain galley organization, food safety standards, and inventory control

Guest Interaction

• Engage professionally with guests, enhancing their Alaskan experience through attention to detail and storytelling when appropriate
• Adapt service style to adventure-focused, nature-oriented clientele

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the captain and deckhand to coordinate meal timing with fishing, wildlife viewing, and shore excursions
• Participate in safety procedures and contribute to a strong onboard team culture

Requirements

• Previous experience as a yacht Chef/Steward(ess), expedition cook, private chef, or in upscale hospitality
• Strong culinary skills suited to a compact galley and moving vessel
• Ability to work independently in remote Southeast Alaska conditions
• Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
• Professional appearance and guest-focused demeanor
• Prior charter, expedition, or Alaska cruising experience highly desirable
